Visa Application

As an international student, it’s essential to ensure the institution you’re applying to is accredited by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Once your application is approved, the university will register your information in the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) database and provide you with the necessary documentation—Form I-20 for F or M visa applicants, or Form DS-2019 if you are applying for a J visa.

01

Apply for University

  • Your first move is to identify a university and program that aligns with both your academic background and personal interests. For example, if you’re passionate about marketing, look into institutions that are well-known for their marketing programs.
  • Each university sets its own admission criteria, so be sure to review the specific requirements of your chosen institution. Common application components include English language proficiency scores (such as IELTS or TOEFL), letters of recommendation from professors, and a well-written Statement of Purpose (SOP).
  • Once you’ve gathered the necessary documents, you may need to pay a non-refundable application fee to proceed. After submitting your application, there is typically a waiting period while the university reviews your profile. Once you receive an offer of admission, you can move forward with applying for your U.S. student visa.

02

Receive Conditional Offer Letter

  • Submit your completed academic history, along with copies of any current or previous U.S. visas and I-20 forms, to the Admissions Office via email.

  • Gather financial documents that prove you have sufficient funds to cover the full cost mentioned in your Offer Letter. Include any additional required forms and send them to Admissions electronically.

  • Make sure to satisfy all conditions outlined in your conditional offer letter.

  • Pay the registration fee or deposit as specified by the university

NOTE: All listed requirements must be fully met before the university can issue your I-20 form. Incomplete submissions will delay your visa process.

03

Issuance of the I-20 Form

  • Once all necessary documents are submitted—meeting the admission criteria, registration fee and deposit are paid, and all conditions listed in the offer letter are fulfilled—the university will process your I-20. This document is typically issued within 10 to 15 business days.

04

Pay SEVIS & Visa Fees and Complete the DS-160 Form

  • After receiving your I-20 form, the next step is to complete the DS-160 visa application form with the assistance of your case officer. You will also need to pay both the SEVIS fee and the U.S. visa application fee. Once the payments are made, schedule your visa interview through the new CGI portal.
  • Be sure to check your local U.S. Embassy or Consulate website for the most up-to-date visa application instructions.

05

Visa Approval

  • Pay Tuition Fees
  • Complete Enrollment Formalities
  • Meet Immunization Requirements
